Opal
Teeny tiny Opal came into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. She had a prolapsed rectum, so shelter staff sent her to the vet to get it repaired. Opal was sent back to the shelter after treatment, but no owner came forward to claim her. We were happy to get Opal out of the shelter and into a loving foster home, and she’s been doing well there so far. Opal is using the litter like a champ, and she’s eating well – both good signs that she is on the road to recovery.
We’ll have updates on wee Opal as she grows, and she will eventually be made available for adoption.
Welcome to Ladybird, Opal! We’re so happy you’re here!
April 29th, 2025 UPDATE
Opal has been doing great in her foster home. She recently had the sutures removed from her prolapse repair, and she’s able to poop much easier now.
She has a recheck appointment booked for two weeks from now, and we are hopeful that her wee bum will continue to heal and she won’t have any more issues.
Way to go, Opal!
