Gaston
* Gaston, Stinky Pete and Clayton found their forever home together with wonderful people! Yay!* When Windsor Humane Society reached out asking if we could take some of the more than 80 rats that had been surrendered to them, we were happy to bring Gaston, Jafar, Scar, Stinky Pete, Ratigan and Clayton into the Ladybird family. Spencer
We’re so thrilled to report that Spencer’s foster family are now officially foster fails and have decided that he’ll be staying with them forever. Congratulations on your adoption, sweet Spencer! Spencer was rescued from Hamilton Animal Services where he was an unclaimed stray. This very sweet guy tested positive for Feline Leukemia, and he also has liver disease. Thankfully, Spencer doesn’t have symptoms of either issue, and he’s the happiest, friendliest boy. Parker
* Parker found his forever home with a wonderful person! Congrats Parker! * Parker was brought into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. He spent a few months at the shelter, but the longer he was there, the more he showed his displeasure with being in a cage. Animal Services reached out to us for help, and we were able to get Parker out of the shelter and into a foster home. On November 12th, Madam Mim gave birth to 4 babies. They raised their babies together, and after being given a clean bill of health at the vet, everyone is ready to find their forever homes! Since the babies from both litters were raised as a group, we kept the males from both litters together when they were separated from their mom and the female babies. * Whoopie found her forever home with amazing people! Yay! * We rescued 20 dwarf hamsters from a Quebec shelter. They were surrendered to the shelter by their owner. The hamsters had a vet visit shortly after their rescue where their genders were confirmed, and they were all given a clean bill of health. Whoopie had three babies with her when she arrived, one of which sadly passed way shortly after their arrival. Button
Button was a baby hedgehog who came in with his mom Bernadette and two siblings. On his arrival, Button was much, much smaller than his siblings and was not thriving like they were. Sadly, little Button passed away during the night after only being with us a few days. We’re so sad to lose this sweet little hedgie, but we’re glad he could know love and warmth for his short time with us. Rest in peace, little Button.
Phoebe
* Phoebe found her forever home with a lovely family! Yay! * Phoebe came into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. She spent an extended time at the shelter, but no owner came forward to claim her. Animal Services spayed Phoebe and made her available for adoption through their own adoption program, but nobody showed any interest in adopting her. After months of being in there, it was becoming obvious that Phoebe wasn’t happy in a shelter environment, so Animal Services reached out to us for help. * Evie has been adopted by a wonderful person, and she’ll have another pig to be friends with! Yay! * Sweet, timid Evie came to Ladybird after she was surrendered to Hamilton Animal Services. This poor girl is terrified of life. One of her ears is chewed up, but is healed now. We’re not sure how her ear was originally injured. Evie is quite literally scared of everything. HAS reached out to us for help, and thankfully we had a foster home open who has experience with snakes. He had a health check at the vet, and despite being a bit thin, he’s in good shape.
