* Jefferson and Grace found their forever home with a lovely family! * Jefferson was surrendered to Hamilton Animal Control by his owners because they had “no time” for him. Sadly, it seems he had not been properly fed in his previous home as he was emaciated and skeletal thin at the time of his surrender. As well, his nails were overgrown and the fur on his hind end was matted and severely urine stained. Grace
* Grace found her forever home with lovely people. And her new bunny brother is Ladybird adoption alumni Bentley! * Grace came into Hamilton Animal Control as a stray, and she was in really rough shape when she first got there. This is how the animal control officer described Grace’s condition when she was picked up: “Emaciated, hungry, overgrown nails, matted, hair loss and bruising from pulling out mats.” Either Grace was severely neglected before she was abandoned outdoors to fend for herself, or she had been outdoors on her own for so long, her health and physical condition had… read more >>
Juniper
Juniper came into Hamilton Animal Control as a stray. She’s a very sweet cat, and so pretty! We took Juniper straight from HAC to the vet, where she had an ultrasound that showed “bubbles” in her abdomen. The vet wasn’t 100% sure if Juniper was pregnant or not, so she has a second ultrasound a little more than a week later, and those bubbles were indeed kittens! Metro
* Metro found his forever home with lovely people! * Hamilton Animal Control were called when a member of the public discovered a cat in a reusable grocery bag, abandoned in an underground parking lot. It’s not known how long Metro had been in the garage, nor why someone would choose to abandon him in this way, but we’re glad he ended up at Animal Control and did not suffer a worse fate. We were happy to rescue Metro from HAC when his stray time was done, and we took him to the vet for a check-up and to be neutered…. read more >>

Tao
February 13th, 2017 – Update Our hearts are broken… Tao did well in his foster home over the weekend. His foster mom reported that Tao was eating well, playing with toys, and following people around the house to be picked up and cuddled. He had a great weekend being spoiled. But this morning, Tao’s breathing became seriously laboured. His foster mom brought him to the vet where they could drain the fluid from his lungs again, but the fluid had become so thick, it was difficult to aspirate. Millie
We rescued Millie from Hamilton Animal Control. She came into HAC as a stray, but nobody came looking for her if she was truly a missing cat. Millie is a lovely girl. She’s a bit shy, but once she’s comfortable, she will give out as many head bonks as you want! Millie had a dental cleaning at the vet, and her blood results showed there were no issues. * Fiona found her forever home with amazing people! * We rescued Fiona from Hamilton Animal Control where she found herself as a stray. Fiona is such a sweetheart! Lots of head bonks and purrs for everyone she meets. We took her to the vet for a much needed dental cleaning, and she did very well for her surgery. Fiona has arthritis, and she now takes a daily medication for it, but the vet thought she was otherwise pretty healthy for a senior girl.
