Cricket

We rescued Molly and her four kittens from Hamilton Animal Control when the kittens were about three weeks old. They’re old enough now to find their forever homes. We’d love it if Cricket could find her forever home with one of her siblings, or be adopted to a home where there is another cat for her to play with. Cricket found her forever home with lovely people!
Koshka

We rescued Molly and her four kittens from Hamilton Animal Control when Molly’s kittens were about 3 weeks old. The kittens are now ready for adoption. Koshka is a sweet and fluffy grey kitten who would love to go to his forever home with one of his siblings, or to a home with other cats he can be friends with. Koshka has been adopted, and he’ll have two kitty siblings at his forever home to be friends with!
Molly

We rescued Molly and her four kittens from Hamilton Animal Control. Molly raised her kittens up well and now she’s ready to find her forever home. Molly is a shy girl, so she will need a home with no small children. She is comfortable with her foster family, but she will do best in a quiet home where her people understand that she will need time to adjust and gain confidence and trust. Molly found her forever home along with her son Flash! So nice that they’ll be together forever… Molly and Flash in their forever home!
Thankful

The ladies of Ladybird Animal Sanctuary are thankful for so many things. Our family and friends, our foster homes, our adopters, our volunteers, our donators, our supporters, our vet clinics… and so much more. We couldn’t do what we do here at Ladybird without all of you, and for that, we are so thankful! And we know the animals we rescue are thankful too! Warm Thanksgiving greetings from all of us here at Ladybird! Happy is thankful for all the hugs she is receiving in her foster home!

Alondso found his forever home with wonderful people!
Happy

We rescued Happy from Hamilton Animal Control. When she came into HAC as a stray, Happy was covered in fleas and lice, she was painfully thin, she had a large infected open wound on her neck, an ulcer in one eye, and as you can see, the other eye is damaged. Despite all that, she was ‘kneading,” purring, head bonking and loving up the staff at HAC while they examined and treated her. Hence…her name. Happy had her damaged eye removed while she was under for her spay surgery. Turned out there was a very small deformed eye in the socket that had… read more >>
Cashew

* Cashew found her forever home with lovely people! * Cashew was rescued from Hamilton Animal Control where she found herself as a stray. She’s a real ham, and she never stops moving. Hence the lack of very clear photos of her! Here’s a note from Cashew’s foster home: “Cashew is turning out to be a very social cat. She comes running when you walk in the door and follows the kids everywhere. She’s very playful and rambunctious at times and is curious about everything. She is a purring machine and almost never meows. She loves her scratching post and… read more >>
Kiwi

We rescued Sully and Kiwi from Hamilton Animal Control. They’re active and comical rats who are bonded to each other. For that reason, they must be adopted as a pair. Here’s a note from Sully and Kiwi’s foster home: “Kiwi was really sick and quite a bit smaller than his brother when he was first taken in but with several weeks of antibiotics and handling he is a friendly, curious, healthy little guy. He loves treats! His favourite treats include: crackers, bananas, apple, and yogurt rat treats. When we have him out of the cage to socialize, he is cuddly and… read more >>

Chloe

We rescued Chloe from Hamilton Animal Control. She was very pregnant when we rescued her, and on October 7th/14, she gave birth to six kittens. Chloe did a great job raising her kittens, and they have all found their forever homes. Now it’s Chloe’s turn! Here’s a note from Chloe’s foster mom: ” Chloe is a lovely, affectionate girl. She must be part Siamese as she likes to talk. Sometimes she sounds slightly angry, but she is usually just asking for a cuddle. I can hold her in my arms like a baby with her on her back. She purrs at the slightest touch too. She is… read more >>

Newborn

We rescued these two newborn kittens from Hamilton Animal Control and placed them with an experienced “bottle feeding” foster mom. Unfortunately, one of the kittens only lived for a short time before he became ill and passed away. Rest in peace little wee one. We’re so glad we were able to show you love and warmth for your short time on this earth. Our condolences go out to the foster mom who tried her best with the delicate baby.
Rocky

We rescued two newborn kittens from Hamilton Animal Control! They were brought into HAC without their mom. Big thanks to the foster home who stepped up to take in these cuties. Bottle feeder babies aren’t the easiest to take care of, so we’re very thankful to have experienced and patient foster families on our foster roster. Unfortunately, one of the kittens passed away after a short time in his foster home. Weeks later, we rescued another kitten similar in age to be friends with little Rocky. Kittens do better mentally and physically when they have a sibling or another kitten to… read more >>
Calvin

We rescued Calvin from Hamilton Animal Control where he found himself as a stray. Upon his arrival at HAC, he was infested with fleas, had a large open tumour on his leg and was painfully thin. Someone had seriously neglected this poor dog. We took Calvin straight from HAC to the vet where he was neutered and the tumour was removed. Turns out the tumour was cancerous, but it had not spread to any other areas and Calvin is just fine. Here’s a note from Calvin’s foster mom: “Let us introduce you to Calvin – our new, much anticipated, foster… read more >>
Philomena

* After being in foster care for more than a year, Philomena’s foster mom decided that she should stay forever! Yay Philomena! * We rescued Philomena from Hamilton Animal Control. Philomena was found in Gage Park and brought to HAC. It’s likely that her previous owner dumped her in the park, thinking she could live outdoors on her own. Domestic rabbits are not wild rabbits, and they don’t often survive being let go in the wild. We’re not sure how long Philomena was alone in the park, but she was suffering some health issues. Her underside was urine covered, she was… read more >>
Steve French

Ladybird rescued Jackson and Steve French from Hamilton Animal Control. They didn’t know each other at HAC, and had come in on different days as strays from different parts of the city. They were both super duper happy kittens in their separate cages…constant rubbing on the bars and flopping with happy feet going. We took a chance and put them together in one cage. They acted like long lost brothers! Purring, grooming and bonking each other…playing and snuggling together. It was a perfect match! They’re total BFFs! We would like them to be adopted as a pair because of this reason…. read more >>
