Rook
Rook and Knight were found outdoors and brought to Hamilton Animal Services. Their finder never saw their mother at all, even days after finding the babies.
We were happy to take Rook and Knight in, and they are now with an experienced foster family who are well versed in bottle feeding kittens. These adorable boys are doing great so far, and we hope they’ll continue to thrive as they grow.
If they stay healthy, Rook and Knight will be made available for adoption when they’re approximately eight weeks old.
Welcome to Ladybird, Rook and Knight! We’re so happy you’re here!

Rook and Knight are doing great! Their eyes are fully open now, they’re mobile, and they’re very chatty. They’ve even made friends with the resident dog at their foster home! They’re eating well, gaining weight and being absolutely adorable.

May 27, 2025 UPDATE
Rook and Knight continue to thrive. They are now weened from bottle feeding and are eating canned and dry food on their own. They’re using the litter like champs, and learning to play with all the toys. We’re so happy these two sweethearts are doing well. Big thank you to Rook and Knight’s foster homes and their vet for helping these adorable kittens get onto a great path in life, despite their rough start.
Keep it up, Rook and Knight! You’re doing great!

June 9, 2025 UPDATE
Knight and Rook were very brave for their vaccine appointment today. They’re doing great in their foster home and having a blast getting into all kinds of trouble together.
Knight and Rook will be available for adoption as a pair when they’re ready, which will be in about a month’s time.
❤️
Go Knight and Rook!

July 1, 2025 UPDATE
Rook & Knight are ready for their forever home! We’re asking they be adopted as a pair.
Here’s a note from their foster mom:
“These bros are too adorable for their own good! Just handsome little himbos, with a bit of a mischievous streak. Rook is the calmer of the two, he likes to cuddle and purrs up a storm the second you touch him. Knight is the more rambunctious one, always pouncing and zooming – including up onto my back and shoulders, he likes to perch up there and watch what’s going on. Rook likes to bat toys around, whereas Knight’s favourite toy is definitely Rook’s tail – he’s just constantly tackling his brother, but they can both give as good as they get. They’ve got bouncy kitten energy, it’s been an absolute delight to see them go from being bottle-fed little babies to zoomy lil’ dudes. Whoever gets to watch them grow up will have a pair of total sweethearts on their hands.”
Please adopt Rook & Knight!

PLEASE NOTE: Rook and Knight have one more set of vaccines due the week of August 4th. Rook & Knight’s adopters are required to get these vaccines done at their own vet, at their own expense.
Rook and Knight have pre-booked appointments the last week of August for their neuters and microchip implants at their current vet in Hamilton. Adopters will be required to get the kittens to this appointment.
The neuters and microchips are covered by Ladybird as part of the adoption fee. Any other medical care or treatment required between adoption day and the neuter appointments will be at the expense of their adopter.
