Tuesday

Tuesday
STATUS: Adoptable AGE AT ARRIVAL: Approximately 10 - 12 weeks old ARRIVAL DATE: November 28th, 2023 SPECIES: Cat BREED: Domestic Short Hair GENDER: Spayed Female ADOPTION FEE: $350 for the pair (what is included?)

On Giving Tuesday, an injured kitten was brought into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. Her tail had been degloved, and she had an injury to her back leg. It’s not known how these injuries happened, but we are thankful that HAS reached out to us right away so we could get this kitten immediate vet care. We had received many generous donations during the day, and we decided an appropriate name for this little one would be Tuesday.
Thankfully, Tuesday doesn’t have any fractures, and the injury to her leg doesn’t seem too serious. Unfortunately though, Tuesday’s tail injury is severe enough that the tail will need to be amputated. She’ll have that surgery, and she’ll be spayed at the same time. We’re hopeful surgery will go well, and that Tuesday can recover without issue. Despite how crummy she must be feeling, Tuesday is a very sweet kitten. She has already purred her way into the hearts of all the staff at the vet clinic.

Welcome to Ladybird, Tuesday! We’re so happy you’re here!
Thank you to all the wonderful Giving Tuesday donors who made it possible for this rescue to happen!

December 1, 2023 UPDATE
Tuesday did great for her surgery! Her tail was removed without issue and she was spayed. Unfortunately, Tuesday’s hind leg injury turned out to be worse than was first thought. Whatever happened to her caused her leg to be partially degloved, but there wasn’t enough skin left around the wound to be able to repair it during surgery. So, she’ll stay under her vet’s care for the weekend to get regular bandage changes in hopes that the wound will granulate and start to heal. She’s getting around the clock care, and we know she’s happy to have all the attention. Despite everything she’s going through, she’s a purry little love bug!

Good job, Tuesday!

December 8, 2023 UPDATE

Tuesday has been receiving around the clock vet care since her surgery, and is now finally ready to be transferred to a foster home where she can continue to heal. Her leg has been healing very well during the past week.
We are so thankful for the many vet clinics we work with. We couldn’t be a rescue without them! We want to give a big thank you to Dr. Stubbs at West Park Animal Hospital for going above and beyond for all our animals, and for being willing to take on emergency rescues without hesitation.
We know little Tuesday will be just fine because we were able to get her the medical care she needed right away.
Tuesday will be available for adoption when she is fully healed.

Go, Tuesday!

December 14, 2023 UPDATE

Just a video of Tuesday being super cute. 🙂

* January 1st, 2023 UPDATE *
A little secret we’ve been keeping. Hitchcock and Tuesday have been in the same foster home, and after slow and patient introductions, they are now best friends! Big thank you to Hitch and Tuesday’s foster family for taking such great care of them individually, and for taking all the steps to insure a successful bond between them.
Hitch and Tuesday will be available for adoption soon…as a pair! 🙂

* January 10th, 2024 UPDATE *
Tuesday and Hitch are ready to find their forever home!
Both cats are healthy, happy, and healed from their surgeries. Because of Hitch’s leg injury, adopters should be prepared for him to possibly develop arthritis in the future, but it’s not an immediate concern.
Here’s a note from their foster family:
A great duo, Hitch & Tuesday are the perfect pair. They get along great with each other and with our other cats. Hitch has a full battery that drains quickly. He loves to play hard before settling in for long nap – ideally under a mountain of blankets. This cuddly guy will let you know when he’s ready to be picked up to sit on your lap. He’s not shy about getting your attention. Tuesday offsets Hitch’s energy slightly. She prefers to start her day playing with Hitch before finding a nice nap spot. She loves her food and is always curious what’s cooking in the kitchen. Hitch can get a bit growly when it comes to his food, but he doesn’t lash out or get aggressive. Thankfully, Tuesday isn’t phased by this one bit.
These two will be hard to say goodbye to. They’re going to be making someone very happy.

Please adopt Tuesday and Hitch!
